One of our long-standing customers, a globally operating medium-sized machine and plant manufacturer, was planning to expand its company in India. The company expansion was to include two things:
- a plant expansion and
- the expansion of the locally manufactured product portfolio.
Our task as WB was to structure this expansion together with the client and to put together a team with the necessary skills to drive this expansion forward at an operational level.
Due to our many years of experience in the Indian business, we were aware of the knowledge and qualifications that the new team members would need to have in order to successfully build up the new business. A constant exchange with colleagues in Germany as well as with local Indian buyers and suppliers would be essential. In addition to numerous other skills and foreign language skills, strong communication skills are therefore essential for a successful, harmonious team.
Building a successful team with newly filled positions
Starting at management level and then covering sales, design and production, WB recruited a group of employees to form the backbone of the planned expansion. This included filling the following positions:
- Chief Operating Officer
- Sales Director
- Sales Manager
- Production manager
- Design Engineer
- Production engineer
Company handbook as a practical aid
As part of the HR search activities, we also drafted a company handbook to provide employees with helpful information from the outset and to clearly define important structures and guidelines.
